(Reuters) – Swiss bank UBS (UBSN.VX) (UBS.N) expects first-quarter revenue in its rebuilt fixed income business to be slightly below $2.3 billion, it said on Tuesday.
The fixed income division made a loss of 547 million Swiss francs ($516 million) in 2009, following a loss of 31.9 billion francs in 2008, which brought the bank to the brink of collapse and forced the Swiss government to bail it out.
News agency Bloomberg had reported that first-quarter revenue at the unit would be around $2.3 billion.

LONDON (MarketWatch) — Royal Bank of Scotland has been fined 28.6 million pounds ($43 million) by the U.K.’s Office of Fair Trading for handing confidential information on loan pricing to rival Barclays.
The OFT said it found evidence that Barclays used the confidential information when determining its own pricing.
However, Barclays is likely to escape being fined because it brought the matter to the authority’s attention under its “leniency policy,” which enables companies to qualify for immunity from penalties.
